PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The project was to analyze the market for material based products and to identify opportunities for HP to use its Metal Jet 3D printing technology. The project was completed in 4 phases: Identified typical applications for copper. This involved researching the different types of products that are made with the material and understanding the market share for each type of product. Filtered applications based on market share and manufacturability. This involved identifying the applications that have the largest market share and that are also feasible to manufacture using Metal Jet 3D printing. Analyzed the top-performing applications in detail. This involved understanding the pain points of the current manufacturing process for these applications and how Metal Jet 3D printing can address these pain points. Developed a short-term and long-term strategy for HP. This involved identifying the specific applications that HP should focus on and developed a plan for how to enter these markets.
